National Women’s Law Center

The National Women’s Law Center website is a storehouse of information. There is a “play-by-play” of events leading up to the fair pay act and coverage of events as they unfold, also access to resources I will follow up on such as The Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was supposed to prevent forms of inequality quite some time ago.

Topic:Should the Obama administration work to eliminate pay inequality for women?

Category:Institutional/Journalistic hybrid website

Publication Information:The NWLC website serves as a medium for non-profit work to expand possibilities for women and girls in this country, and is therefore institutional. However, there are links to journalistic sources that span the range of articles, video footage and photos. This site has a feminist perspective on the news they choose to present which I enjoy. It is published in Washington, where the group is based.

Location: http://www.nwlc.org/details.newsroom

Accessed:countless times

Support:The co-president of the group,Marcia Greenberger, lawyer.Links to news sources and personal interviews with women around the country.

Source Analysis:The publication definitely supports the feminist viewpoint. It is a non-profit organization, made possible by donors listed in the site. Many major corporations are in support of their work.

Usefulness: Of the utmost! The site was created to provide access to many different avenues of information concerning women’s suffered inequalities.Judging by the sponsorships, I would guess that women and men are interested in the work.Definitely a go-to site for my topic.
